Use Borax to control odors all over the home.

Borax deodorizes and freshens in the laundry, kitchen, and bathroom.

Control Odor in the Home

Over the past hundred years, 20 Mule TeamĀ® Borax has had many uses. In addition to being a powerful detergent booster, 20 Mule Team Borax can be used to control odors all over the home. The following is a list of places in the home that may benefit from 20 Mule Team Borax’s odor control properties:

Refrigerators

20 Mule Team Borax is excellent for cleaning and deodorizing your refrigerator. Lingering odors and spilled food can be washed away with a sponge or soft cloth using a solution of 1 tablespoon of 20 Mule Team Borax to a quart of warm water. Then rinse again with cold water.

Garbage Disposals

20 Mule Team Borax helps deodorize food waste disposals by neutralizing acidic odors. Sprinkle 2 to 3 tablespoons in the drain, let stand for at least 15 minutes, then flush with water while turning on the disposal. You can also use this treatment in regular sink drains.

Garbage Cans

Sprinkle 2 to 3 tablespoons of 20 Mule Team Borax in the garbage disposal or drain. Let stand for at least 15 minutes, then flush with water for a few seconds (disposal should be running).

Toilet Bowl

To deodorize your toilet bowl, sprinkle a 1/4 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax into the bowl. Swish with your toilet brush and let stand for at least 30 minutes (overnight is even better). Toilet bowl brushes can benefit from an occasional 20 Mule Team Borax soak as well.

Floors and Rugs

Neutralize extreme odors and stains such as urine and spilled milk by dampening the spot and sprinkling 20 Mule Team Borax on it. Rub into affected areas and let dry. Brush or vacuum to remove 20 Mule Team Borax after stain disappears.

Important note: Before treating carpet or upholstery, test an unexposed area with 20 Mule Team Borax to make sure the dye is colorfast to accommodate treatments. Never leave open buckets containing liquids where children can reach them. They pose a drowning hazard. Keep Borax out of reach of children and pets.
